  • Gosford City Garden Competition

    Its time again for the presentation of  awards for the Gosford City Garden Competition judging has been taking place since the 15th September and on Thursday 1st October the announcements of the winning entries will be held at a gala dinner at the Gosford/Edogawa Commemorative Gardens .

    In line with our regions current focus on water conversation, the 2009 Gosford City Garden competition is themed around ecological sustainability,innovation and creativity.Highly regarded as best practice within the industry,the competition aims to simulate enthusiaasm and interest in various types of gardening and ecologically sustainable practices, with the objective to publically acknowledge and reward the efforts of those who enter.

    With Judges from the Australian Institute of Horticulture, the competetion attracts a wide range of businesses and community groups including schools,retirement villages,community centres and local industries.

    All the team at Boydita Flowers Delivered wish all enterants the very best of luck and look forward to the announcement of the winners.

    Each year Boydita Flowers Delivered sponsors a beautiful large floral design for the presentation evening. This year is no exception and we will again design a beautiful native design featuring  some truely beautiful waratahs, kangaroo paw and a selection of native flowers all able to be grown on the Central Coast.

  • An Evening With Master Chef winner Julie Goodwin

    On Friday 25thSeptember a Evening withMaster Chef Winner Julie Goodwin will be held at Magenta Shores Golf and Country Club.The evening will support Fair Haven Services with donations of $100 getting you a seat at the event. There will be Charity auctions,Lucky Door Prizes and great company to maqke what should be a very enjoyable night.

    Fairhaven Services is a social enterprise dedicated to ensuring that intellectual disability is no boundary for people on the Central  Coast.Fairhaven not only provide accommodation and care at various residential sites around the Central Coast,but opportunities for people to earn a living through employment to various Businesses.

    Boydita Flowers Delivered will provide sponsorship of a Floral Design each month for the next twelve months a truly great prize to be had.


  • Flower Of The Month-Hyacinth

    Hyacinth a mass of small bell shaped,perfumed flowers make up the hyacinth spike. Like most spike flowers they open from the bottom up. hyacinths are very popular bulb, possibly due to their distenctive scent. They are most commonly found in white,blue,pink or yellow.

    Botanical Name: Hycinthus orientalis

    Common Name: Hyacinth

    Available Colours: Blue,Pink,Crimson,White and Yellow

    Flower Care :

    * Keep cool at all times

    * Recut at least 2cm off each stem with sharp secateurs and place in water immediately

    * Never place Hyacinths near heat source

    Interesting Facts:

    The name comes from the greek "Hyakinthos", who was a handsome young man who was loved by the God Apollo. It was first brought into Western Europe in the 16th Century and during the 17th and 18th Century like the tulip it was only found in the collections of very rich flower collectors. Because of the hyacinths pervasive perfume the bulbs were exobitantly expensive. In the language of flowers Blue Hyacinths means Constancy.


  • Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service at Flora Festival

    The 23rd Australian Spring Time Flora Festival will run from 10th September-13th September 2009 at Mt Penang Parklands. The award winning event is one of the largest and most popular floral events in Australia. Interspersed among the floral displays and landscape garden settings will be displays by associated commercial suppliers who help provide the visitor with a total picture of outdoor garden,lifestyle and home living.

    There will be over 300 displays to view one of those will be the Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service. This is a community owned and operated aeromedical search and rescue service, servicing the Hunter, Central Coast,Mid North Coast,New England and North West regions. Each year the helicopter service performs over 1200 omissions,rescuing people from accident scenes and transporting critically ill patients from small rural hospitals to large tertiary hospitals. The Helicopter Service provides a FREE service to over one million people covering a region of 132,000 square kilometers.

    This year at the Spring Time Festival Boydita Flowers Delivered will be enhancing the Westpac Resue Helicopter Service display with beautiful floral displays be sure to call in to the site at the Flora Festival.
